Moving photocopy: the effect of moving the original
On a photocopier, moving the original while the light passes gives shapes you couldn’t draw by hand: stretches, waves and jumps. This tool reproduces the gesture on screen and keeps the result so you can repeat it, undo it or print it.
or drop it here · PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG
Everything runs in your browser: the design never leaves your device.
How to use it
- 1Upload the drawing.
- 2In Effects press “Copy”: after a countdown the bar moves down and you drag the drawing (still copies normally; with the bar, stretches; against it, squashes; sideways, skews).
- 3Download the stencil or the design (PNG with transparency).
Tips
- Start with the slow speed: you have more time to move the drawing on purpose.
- Short zigzag moves make waves; one long, steady move makes a clean stretch.
- Not convinced? “Copy again”: every attempt goes into the history and can be undone.

Does the result go into the stencil?
Yes: it’s applied before the other settings and comes out the same in the preview, the PDF and the PNG.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes: drag with your finger over the canvas while the bar moves down.
